Spring Bloom 2026

Spring Bloom is right around the corner! Happening on Saturday, May 9th, this our 2nd annual event celebrating all things flowers, plants, nature and gardening.

Featuring 20 retail vendors selling fresh flowers, dried flowers, succulents, plants, artwork, planters, floral inspired goods and more. 

Plus free workshops, demos & talks all day by UC Master Gardeners.

Plus a Floral Vase Painting Workshop by Itzy Bitzy Art Shop.

Plus Vietnamese inspired drinks by Nha Cafe. 

Presented by San Jose Downtown Association. In collaboration with SJMADE x MOMENT. In partnership with The City of San José.

Open from 12 PM to 5 PM.

Located outdoors at Parque de los Pobladores in downtown San José and on the adjacent street closure on 1st Street between E William Street and E Reed Street.

Pet friendly but any and all pets must be leashed while on the event premises.

Free admission for attendees.

Floral Vase Painting Workshop

Hosted by Itzy Bitzy Art Shop

Price: $15 per person (reserve your spot in advance / limited walk-ins available)

Join us for an afternoon of painting your favorite blooms!

In this edition of our DIY series, our artist will first demonstrate how to paint different flowers on your own ceramic vase to take home. After the demo, the class will be open to free painting for you to explore the techniques taught. You'll learn the basics of flower painting as well as different techniques and tips such as blending, color mixing, general color theory, layering, and more!

No matter if you're new to painting, a hobbyist, or an expert, this class is perfect for a relaxing, fun-filled spring afternoon spent with community.

To keep the workshop running as smooth as possible, we ask guests to please arrive within 10 minutes before the start time so we may begin promptly.

  • 12:30 PM | Flower Arranging Demo by Lisa Tomasian: Turn simple blooms into showstoppers! Learn the secrets of “Thrills, Spills, and Fills” and create beautiful arrangements bursting with texture, color, and movement.

  • 1:30 PM | Hands-on Flower Arranging by Master Gardener Crew: Roll up your sleeves and play with flowers! Create your own arrangement alongside Master Gardeners and take home new skills (and inspiration).

  • 2:30 PM | Dried Flower Frame Craft by Lisa Tomasian: You bring your creativity, we'll provide beautifully dried flowers, let's create together!

  • 3:30 PM | Container Gardening Talk: No yard? No problem! Learn how to grow flowers, herbs, and more in containers—perfect for patios, balconies, and small spaces.

  • ONGOING | Seeding Station: Visit the Master Gardeners and learn tips for seeding your own ornamental plants. From Seed Package secrets to soil success, we're here to share and send you home with some planted seeds.
