Being an Asian woman in a “wanderlust” space, I’ve grappled with my own complicity in how homogeneous this industry is and how it regularly reflects the same kinds of (often, beautiful, blonde, skinny, white people). No one looks like me. I rarely see women and families of color... Black, Middle Eastern, LatinX, Asian, Indigenous never get the visibility in this industry...
So I’m making a conscious effort to create original art and products that better reflect the communities, faces, shapes, and points of view I surround myself with. I hope that people of color see themselves in the work too and know that this world is meant for all of us. - R029
