UPDATE (Sunday, Aug. 13):
- Attendance Limit. Due to the expected warm weather, we will be reducing the number of attendees for each timed entry slot. This may mean that when you receive your timed entry card it may be for an hour later (or more). Also, once we reach our overall attendance limit, we will have to turn people away. While we don't love ever having to do that, we want to ensure a more pleasant shopping experience for customers (as well as the vendors) inside the event, and this means enforcing a stricter cap than usual on attendees allowed into the overall event.
- Kitty Carnival Games. Due to some unexpected issues, the Kitty Carnival Games will be closed to start the day. We may reopen them in the afternoon or they may remain closed for the entire day Sunday. We apologize for any inconvenience.
- Immediate Entry. If you have an online confirmation for a Mini Cat Town Kitten Lounge reservation (please be prepared to show it to our staff), you will be allowed into the event immediately. If you have accessibility or mobility issues, you will be allowed into the event immediately.
San José Made will be doing its first ever San José Summer Fair on Aug. 12-13, 2023 at San José's Westgate Center. This is going to be a big, super fun (possibly funny) event featuring 125+ makers, artists and creative small businesses within three (3) themed sections:
- The Froggy Fest: A celebration of artwork and craft featuring–you guessed it–frogs!
- The Tiny Object Marketplace: A marketplace celebrating the joy of tiny crafted objects.
- The Kitty Carnival: A cat themed vendor marketplace plus the return of Mini Cat Town's Pop Up Kitten Lounge and our Kitty Carnival Games (plus our Kitty Carnival Game Prizes!).
This event is free admission to attend (but there will be timed entry in order to stagger the flow of attendees into the venue ... see below). Free on-site parking. All ages welcome. This venue is indoors.
Event Dates & Times
- Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023: 11 am to 5 pm
- Sunday Aug. 13, 2023: 11 am to 5 pm
Attending the Event
- To avoid having people wait in lines outside to get into the event, we will be implementing a timed entry system for attendees.
- Head to the entrance of the venue. Someone from our staff will be passing out timed entry cards to the attendees. We will only distribute timed entry cards to people who are physically present at the time.
- Once you receive your timed entry card, you will NOT have to wait in line anymore. You can go elsewhere (we recommend heading indoors to the Westgate Center mall itself).
- Please return to the venue entrance at the time designated on your timed entry card. You will be allowed into the venue at that time.
- If you have accessibility needs, please proceed to the venue entrance even if there is a line of attendees waiting to get in. You will not have to wait to get into the event.
- If you made an online reservation for Mini Cat Town's Pop Up Kitten Lounge, please proceed to the venue entrance even if there is a line of attendees waiting to get in. Please be prepared to show our staff your email confirmation and an ID that matches the name on the email confirmation.
Location & Parking
- The event location is the former Walmart at Westgate Center. Westgate Center is located at 1600 Saratoga Ave, San José, CA 95129.
- We recommend that all attendees park in the section of the center's parking lot near the Tuxedo Wearhouse located at 1600 Saratoga Ave #403, San Jose, CA 95129. The event venue is located in the building between 49ers Fit and Tuxedo Warehouse.
- Parking in the Westgate Center parking lot is free.
- Accessibility parking is available throughout the Westgate Center parking lot in multiple locations.

Pet Policy
- The venue, Westgate Center, has a service animal only policy in place.
COVID Policy
- We're asking all attendees, staff and vendors to wear face masks (properly) at all times during the event except when eating and drinking inside the venue.
This weekend will be warm.
- Please prepare accordingly.
- On our end, our timed entry process will reduce the amount of time you have to be outdoors.
- We recommend bringing your own water, but we will have some complimentary water (while supplies last) available at the info booth and EMT station.
- In addition to the venue’s A/C and fans, we will have additional large fans stationed around the venue.
- We will also honor in & outs for attendees so if anyone wants to step out for lunch or just some fresh air, they’ll be able to leave and come back without having to wait in line.

Mini Cat Town Pop Up Kitten Lounge
Reservations for the Mini Cat Town's Pop Up Kitten Lounge are now available for purchase here: https://www.minicattown.com/product/kitty-carnival
One ticket will secure 15 mins of kitten playtime at your designated time slot. There will be a few walk-in tickets reserved for each time slot, but we highly recommend making your reservation in advance.
Mini Cat Town is a nonprofit 501(c)-3. All donations are welcomed and go back into saving more kittens. Since 2019, Mini Cat Town has rescued and adopted out over 1,500 kittens.
