My art is rooted in my experience as a second-generation Chinese-American woman from rural Minnesota. Through watercolor art, Chinese ink brush painting, and digital art, I express my vision for a better world with bright and joyful colors.
I draw inspiration from Chinese symbolism, the diasporic Asian-American experience, being a restaurant kid, and the natural world. I love to smell flowers, taste food, and chase sunsets, which manifest into my art and writing. My goal is to make art accessible to people from all cultures and brighten up any space!
As a writer, I am interested in exploring the complexities of food and culture. I write about Asian food for Minnesota Rice, my project focused on uplifting Asian cuisine in the age of anti-Asian racism. My artwork and writing has been featured by the Weisman Art Museum, Asian American Organizing Project, and The Heavy Table.
