What is SoFA Market?
SoFA Market is an intimate food hall in the heart of the SoFA Arts District in downtown San Jose. Its unique experience centers on its group of like-minded vendors committed to creating a vibrant urban scene and interested in locally-sourced and organic products. Currently, SoFA Market boasts eight amazing establishments with two more coming soon. For anyone familiar with the downtown San Jose scene, SoFA Market is quickly becoming the go-to spot for tasty and interesting food and drink concepts and SoFA Arts District in general has established itself as the go-to neighborhood for exciting arts and entertainment programming.

Where is the SJMADE Pop-Up Cart located?
The SJMADE Pop-Up Cart will normally be located right on the front patio directly in front of SoFA Market, positioned so it can capture the attention of both people going into and out of SoFA Market as well as people walking through SoFA Arts District. However, during some special events, like SoFA's exciting new #SoFABrunch on Sundays, it may be beneficial to place the cart in the back patio where a large concentration of people may be gathered.

Pop-Up Cart Specs
This wooden display cart is made of solid pine with and oak finish.
It weighs approximately 62 lbs.
The product display area is 40" x 29" x 64" (W x D x H).
There is a chalk board sign permanently fixed on top.
This wooden display cart has sturdy legs for support and wheels for mobility.

Coming soon. The SJMADE Pop-Up Cart operating hours will vary depending on each maker's preferences. The hours of operation will continually be updated to reflect the accurate operating hours for each maker.
SoFA Market Hours of Operation
Each eatery within SoFA Market may have different operating hours. The below hours are the general operating hours for SoFA Market. Hours subject to change for holidays. Please check the SoFA Market website for the most up-to-date hours.
MONDAY - 8 AM to 10 PM
TUESDAY - 8 AM to 10 PM
WEDNESDAY - 8 AM to 10 PM
THURSDAY - 8 AM to 12 AM
FRIDAY - 8 AM to 12 AM
SATURDAY - 8 AM to 12 AM
SUNDAY - 8 AM to 10 PM
Every application will be juried. In other words, applying does not guarantee placement. When we review the applications, we'll be reviewing your products and your business to determine whether or not your business is a good fit for this particular pop-up. After submitting your application, we will take anywhere from 3-5 days to review your application. Once we're finished, we'll email you with our decision. If your application has been accepted, we will provide a payment link as well as instructions to prepare you for the pop-up.
For our inaugural summer season of pop-ups, we are offering this pop-up opportunity for the discounted rate of $50 per day. As you will see from the application below, we are open to having you pop-up in a variety of ways including:
(1) Single-day pop-ups
(2) Consecutive multi-day pop-ups (e.g. popping up for an entire week or month)
(3) One day per week pop-ups (e.g. popping up every Monday)
(4) One day per month pop-ups (e.g. popping up the first Monday of every month)
If you are a food/drink maker...
We will be allowing RC1 Low Risk food/drink makers to pop up so long as their food/drink product does not conflict with any of the existing food/drink programming at SoFA Market. Please take a look at SoFA Market's listed eateries to better understand what we're talking about here.
Please keep in mind that food/drink makers will incur additional fees in addition to the pop-up rent. These fees will cover any permit fees needed in order to have Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health approve your pop-up's operation. If you have any questions about this, please include them in the "comments section" of your application to the pop-up.
Do people popping up in the pop-up space have to operate their shop during all the operating hours of SoFA Market?
Not necessarily. Before you pop-up, we'll discuss what your goals for the pop-up are and what your past pop-up and event experiences (not just ours) have been like in order to best determine the most optimal time of day to pop up. Some makers will only thrive in the morning and afternoon, some will thrive more in the evening, some will thrive all day. We want to allow you to tailor your pop-up cart operating hours to your preferences.
In order to pop-up in our cart, you will need general liability insurance to cover the duration that you'll be popped up.
If, after having been accepted and having paid, you need to withdraw from your pop-up, we will offer a full refund if you notify us by email (send to firstname.lastname@example.org) 21 days prior to the start of your pop-up. If you notify us any later, we will not be able to issue a refund.
